Brief About Northern Railway (NR)?
Northern Railway is the biggest zone in Indian Railways, which comprises Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Chandigarh. It is a wonderful opportunity, as once completing the apprenticeship, the candidates will be awarded 20% reservation in future Level-1 (Group D) posts and will be exempted from the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which will help the candidates in building a good base for technical careers.

Eligibility Criteria for RRC NR Apprentice 2026
To have your form accepted, you must comply with the strict eligibility criteria in the RRC NR Apprentice Notification 2026
Educational Qualification (As of 18/11/2025)
Mandatory: The candidate must have completed the SSC/Matriculation/10th Class examination, or its equivalent (within the 10+2 examination system), with at least 50% total marks from a recognized Board.
Technical:** Must have an ITI (Industrial Training Institute) Certificate in the relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT recognized by the Government of India.

Merit List Preparation
No Written Exam And No Interview
Merit list is made by averaging the marks gained in the 10th (must be a min of 50%) and ITI test.
Formula: (Percentage in 10th + Percentage in ITI) ÷ 2
Tie-Breaker: If a tie, then the elder one is taken. If the same DOB then the one who completed Matriculation earlier is taken.
Document Verification (DV)
You will receive an invitation to DV after being shortlisted (1.5 times the positions). You will need to present your original documents (Proof of Age, Class 10 Certificate, ITI Certificate, Caste Certificate) and a Medical Fitness Certificate.
