Railway Ticketing Responsibilities
1. Ticket Booking & Reservations
- Take care of customers’ reservations for buses, trains, flights, or events.
- When booking airline tickets, use Global Distribution Systems (GDS) such as Amadeus, Galileo, or Sabre.
- Verify the cost and availability of tickets while making sure that the fare calculations are correct.
- Organize group reservations and effectively handle business travel requests.
2. Customer Service & Support
- Respond to consumer questions about tickets by phone, email, or in person.
- Quote fares, describe travel regulations, and address ticketing concerns.
- Respond to grievances about rescheduling, cancellations, or incorrect bookings.
- Provide substitute travel plans in the event of cancellations or delays.
3. Ticket Issuance & Modifications
- Generate and issue tickets based on customer requests.
- Process changes such as rescheduling, cancellations, or refunds as per company policies.
- Ensure all ticketing transactions comply with airline, transportation, or event regulations.
4. Documentation & Record-Keeping
- Ensure that all reservations, invoices, and client information are accurately documented.
- Make sales reports every day and send them to management.
- For audit and compliance purposes, keep a record of all ticketing transactions.
5. Coordination with Airlines & Vendors
- To obtain ticket confirmations, get in touch with airline agents, transportation companies, or event planners.
- Address any disagreements or inconsistencies pertaining to reservations.
- Keep abreast of travel restrictions, fare adjustments, and airline policies.
6. Sales & Revenue Management
- To increase sales, advertise travel packages, discounts, and special offers.
- Help reach monthly sales goals by using efficient ticketing techniques.
- Give advice on frequent flyer perks, travel insurance, and loyalty programs.
Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills
- strong familiarity with reservation and ticketing software, such as Sabre, Galileo, and Amadeus.
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service abilities.

Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Travel & Tourism, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).

- 1-3 years of experience in ticketing or a related field (preferred).
