Responsibilities

Ticketing & Fare Collection – Operate ticketing systems and counters to dispense passes, tickets, and travel smart cards.

Passenger Assistance – Respond to ticketing, route, fare, and travel queries. Differentiate service to the aged, differently-abled, and tourists.

Cash & Record Keeping – Record all daily transactions, cash, and sales for the day, and ensure end-shift reconciliation.

Customer Service – Process refunds, lost card assist, and recharges while explaining complex situations in simple terms.



Safety & Crowd Control – During peak times, assist other staff to implement their flow control strategies and ensure all counter safety procedures are observed.

Adherence – Train all staff in Metro protocols on guidance, order, and control.

Qualifications

Communication and customer relations.

12th Pass, Basic IT and ticketing systems knowledge.

Attention to Detail

Taking care of cash and accounts requires focus.

Solving problems does not need to be complex and applies to all situations, including passengers.

Being patient and disciplined in a fast-paced environment is needed.

Willing to work on weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts is a plus.

Academic Qualifications

At a minimum, you need to have passed 12th grade or equivalent.

Having a diploma or a degree will be looked at favorably.

Basic computer knowledge is a plus but not mandatory.

Metro Ticket Executives work from ticket counters to customer service places, and even to vending machines. This position requires a lot of interaction and managing people in queues. During rush hours, Ticket Executives might have to manage crowds while keeping calm. There is a set of rules to determine which Executives will work at which stations.

Salary and Advantages

Average Salary: ₹18,000 – ₹30,000 a month depending on the city and the metro corporation.

Extra Salary: Overtime, paid sick leave, free or discounted metro passes, health insurance, and provident fund.
