The Armed Forces of India conduct numerous examinations that candidates need to undergo to secure positions within the army. One of the examinations is the GD Recruitment Examination. This examination occurs under the `Agni path Scheme` and is meant for the General Duty role of the army. It is only meant for unmarried and male candidates. These candidates need to have completed their 10th grade and have to clear the minimum cutoff that is established. After that they undergo physical and medical tests and undergo document verification. After these steps the candidates need to give a `Common Entrance Exam`. With the publication of the GD (Agni veer General Duty) Notification 2026, the online application process will commence. The notification will contain details regarding opening and closing of the application process, vacancies, and eligibility parameters (age, education, physical and medical standards, such as Class 10 pass with required marks).

The eligibility criteria 2026 of the India army GD 2026 are branch specific and are the basic requirements an applicant needs to fulfill to be a part of the army under the in country Agni path scheme. To join the army in GD, the candidates must be between the age groups given below.
Minimum Age: 17.5 Years Old
Maximum Age: 21 Years Old
NOTE: In this category, no age relaxation is applicable, no matter whether the candidate is from the reserved categories or is an ex-serviceman.
