Your job as an SIS Security Officer is to maintain the safety and security of the building staff and patrons. You will meet the minimum requirements including enforcing safety guidelines, operating surveillance systems, regular patrols and responding to incidents and emergencies as necessary. Key Responsibilities?
Ensure Security: Protect the building from theft, vandalism, fire and other threats by applying and enforcing security procedures and protocols.
- Surveillance: Continually monitor cameras, alarms and access control systems for any abnormal activity or breach. Take action quickly (investigate and correct problems).
- Access Security: Monitor and record access to the property by ensuring those entering or leaving the premises are authorized to do so. Issue guest badges and keep visitor logs.
- Patrols: Perform routine patrols of grounds, facilities, and vehicles to minimize and investigate potential security threats. Notify the management team of any suspicious activity, unlocked doors, broken windows or unauthorized persons on property.
- Incident Response: Respond to security incidents, alarms and emergency situations according to policies and protocol in a timely manner. Take action to reduce and eliminate any immediate danger, such as calling emergency services, rendering first aid if necessary, and evacuating.
- Report Writing: Write clear and concise reports on incidents, investigations and daily operations. Ensure adequate records management of security incidents, access control logs and patrol reports.
- Communication: Communicate with other security officers, supervisors, employees, and guests. Give clear and concise directions when appropriate and direct/assist requests for information regarding security.
- Training and Compliance: Be current with security processes, policy and the best practices. Training Participate in training to further knowledge and skills. Comply with legal and company policies.
- Equipment and Systems: Utilize and maintain security equipment and systems to include but not limited to: CCTVs; access control systems; alarms; and fire suppression systems. Report all defects and malfunctions in accordance with applicable maintenance procedures.

Educational qualification??
High school diploma or equivalent education level. Working experience in a security capacity an added advantage.
Excellent observation skills and a keen eye for detail.
Strong communication and writing skills.
Ability to remain rational during difficult moments.
Understanding of security operations, policies, procedures, and willingness to respond to emergencies. Knowledge of access control ice, CCTV, and security maintenance systems.
Basic computer software and report writing skills. Physical abilities such as foot and stairs patrols and lifting of heavy objects.
May require valid security license and certificates depending on local jurisdiction.
