The selection is done on the basis of the battalion, and movement to the District Armed Reserves is permitted, but only to the corresponding battalion

2. Eligibility & Sarkari Naukri
Not eligible are women candidates and candidates with a disability.
Age range, name and qualification are as follows:
General candidates: 18 – 26 years
An applicant may only submit one application to a single battalion.
3. Ranked List & Validity
- A distinct ranked list will be made for each battalion.
- Validity: Ranked lists will be considered valid for 1 year after the list is finalized.
- Advice on vacancy: Candidates will be chosen for the available positions reported during the time the list is valid and the previous list is no longer valid.
Educational Qualification
Minimum required is a pass in Higher Secondary Education (HSE/Plus Two) or the equivalent.
An equivalent/top qualification is acceptable and is beyond HSE.
If sufficient candidates qualified to fill the reserved quotas available, SC/ST candidates without HSE may be considered; HSE must be unmet.
Rules Applied
Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II will be of KS&SSR.
If higher or equivalent qualifications are necessary, government orders must be issued citing the qualifications.
Physical Qualifications
The following are the minimum physical standards a candidate has to fulfill:
(a) Height and Chest Measurements:
Height:
General candidates: 168 cm.
Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates: 160 cm.
Chest:
All candidates have to have at least 81 centimeters in chest with an expansion of 5 centimeters.
SC and ST candidates are 76 centimeters with an expansion of 5 centimeters.
